Sunday 29th October
Checked into the Great Southern Hotel in George Street close
to Sydney’s Central Station. The hotel was built in the 1940’s and tries hard
to create a “heritage” ambience with old telephones, armchairs and a radio in
the lobby but I’m not convinced it works. The words “faded” and “tired” come to
mind. I got upgraded to a large suite
with two bedrooms which would be great if I had some people to party with.

Had
lunch of sausages and beer at the Bavarian Bar just up the road in World Square
and then went to explore the Queen Victoria Building.
